Admissions FAQs
Do I need to live in Orleans Parish to attend to Audubon Charter School?
Yes, all students that attend Audubon Charter School must live in Orleans Parish. Parents are required to present proof of residency when they register their child .
What grades do you offer?
Audubon offers Pre-K 4 through 8th grade in the French Program
Audubon offers Pre-K 3 through 8th grade in the Montessori Program.

How old does my child have to be in order to attend Audubon?
Children entering Pre-K 3 must be 3 years old on or before September 30th.
Children entering Pre-K 4 must be 4 years old on or before September 30th.
Children entering Kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before September 30th.
If my child has a late birthday can I hold them back?
No, Families who want their child to repeat Pre-K due to a late birthday - this is NOT and option. 

Can I apply for both the French School and the Montessori School?
Yes, you can thorught the OneApp application process. But you will need to rank your choice for either school in the order of your placement preference.

Can I set up an appointment to tour the school?
We have several Open House dates for parents to attend. Check the Admissions process and forms link for specific dates and times. Attendance at the Open House is optional. The Open House dates are the only opportunity to tour the school prior to acceptance. 

What is the Curriculum Meeting?
The curriculum meeting is where the school gives details about both the French and the Montessori programs. Parents are REQUIRED to attend one curriculum meeting in order for an applicant's name to be included in the lottery. Attendance at an Open House does not meet this requirement.
How many vacancies do you have?
We cannot determine the number of vacancies at this time. The number of vacancies at each level will be announced at the lottery.

My child does not speak French and did not attend a French Immersion pre-school. Can I still apply for Kindergarten in the French school?
Yes. We do accept Kindergarten students with no prior French experience. Students are required to demonstrate adequate proficiency to enter first grade, therefore your child may be required to have two years of Kindergarten.

Is the Pre-K a full day program?

Is there a charge for Pre-K?
Yes. Audubon currently assess a fee of $5,100 per student, per school year for both the French and Montessori Pre-K programs. 
Do low income students have to pay tuition?
We offer a limited number of LA4 seats. Students who qualify for LA4 or who have an IEP must submit and application through the Enroll NOLA website. Please see the link below.
We also offer a small number of  scholarship seats for our Pre-K 3 program, applications and verifications are handeled thorugh the Enroll NOLA office. An application must be submitted through the Enroll NOLA website. Please see the link below.
